Specializes in Total Joint Replacement (Knee & Hip) & MAKOplasty Partial Knee Resurfacing
Dr. Steven Atchison has been in private practice at Orthopedic Specialists of Louisiana since 1998. He specializes in disorders of the hip, knee and MAKOplasty partial knee and hip resurfacing. Atchison preformed the first robotic-arm assisted joint replacement in the State of Louisiana. MAKOplasty is powered by a surgeon guided robotic arm during partial knee resurfacing and total hip replacements. This technology enables increased precision in performing this minimally invasive procedure, which preserves bone, spares surrounding tissue and promotes quicker healing compared to total knee replacement.
